I keep telling myself that there are worse off people than myself and that itll sort itself out soon but at the moment it seems to be getting worse!
Basically myself and my girlfriend own our house (Mortgage) and we have a joint account. We both earn a decent wage combined and get paid on the same day as we work for the same company.
Recently though we have been getting paid and before we know it we are well into the over draft and beyond. The bank used to allow us unauthorised overdrafts above the limit of £1000 but have recently began to refuse them and return items unpaid.
When weve got no money we have to borrow from family members which we pay back the following month which knocks us back for that month again, the mortgage comes out, aswell as other DD's and any loans we have, and then were in the red again.
We stupidly took a loan to consolidate everything which turned out not to be enough so has now become another debt on top of others and cant seem to get out of the overdraft or stay under it. I know we can afford to pay all the monthly outgoings easily but just cant get back to the start in order to do so. Im worried that we wont be able to get a big debt consolidation loan because lenders might look at the other loans weve took over time due to us being young and very naive!
To date our mortgage and bills and everything else has been paid ontime every time due to the bank allowing us unauthorised overdrafts but now with them refusing to do so im worried that things might start getting returned unpaid and the lenders knocking on the door!
I dont think were bad enough to consider IVA or bankruptcy, neither would we want to but I just want some advice on how we can get back to square one and also never have to or want to apply for credit again.
Any advice would be brilliant thanks!!!
