    Re: Guarantees

Thanks for the reply Jason, the laptop is usable so after reading some horror storys as regards getting a repair done I think I will cut my losses and not bother. After what I have read about Currys and their engineers I can see this being a protracted issue,
    regards Maxwell.

    Re: Guarantees

    Hi Maxwell1945

This is tricky, I would say that at the moment they are being fairly even handed in their approach, (and it sounds like they're operating inside the product warranty) but I would ask if it was possible for you to pass the examination to an engineer that you select rather than one of their own if possible.

    Good luck

    Jason

    Guarantees

I purchased a laptop from Currys 6 months ago.To cut a long story short the touch pad button became loose.Currys tech guys blamed wear and tear,This verdict after a telephone conversation.I then took the laptop back to the store and a young lady behind the customer care desk looked at the lap top and declared that it had been dropped and they would not repair it under guarantee.Getting no joy from the store I e-mailed another customer care person and the reply I got was to get the laptop examined by a qualified engineer at my expense and If they accepted his decision that it was a geniune fault they 'might reimburse me my costs and also repair the laptop.Does this sound right to the experts.
