    Hi Dan,

They are a bunch or robbing sods, but the charge is correct. This was on the BT website:

    http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bt_popup_article.php?p_faqid=8311

Have you considered the mobile 3G broadband packages? The speed will depend on the coverage in your area, but at least it is an alternative.

    Hey Rob,

Yeah Ive thought about the "dongle" option... However I hope to be doing movie, music downloading and the speed of th dongles are a little slow.

Its just a downer with regards to set up fee of the landland....

    You'll get a landline for £30 from BT quoting Notice 2008 25/08

18 month contract and you must make so many calls per month/quarter but not a bad deal from the "robbing sods" eh?

    Hi

I'm not sure if you would be interested but if you get a bt line installed. They ask for 120 but then u can switch to sky and sky will pay the 120 for you.

When you get switched on to bt there is a part in contract were you can cancel within so many weeks, if you tell sky they will then transfer your phone line over and that way you will be within your rights.

you can get broadband with them.

    Hope this helps

    x

Have heard about Sky refunding line installation costs but all BT new lines come with either a 12 or 18 month contract. Break either by moving line rental within that time and it's at least £70 charge.

Keeping line rental with BT avoids that charge.
