Re: Using NCD on second policy

Surely the renewal notice would be for a different car than the one you're trying to insure?

My advice is don't do it, you would technically be driving round without insurance

It's unlikely that you would be able to do this, as insurance NCD is on a database nowadays they don't bother with the paper renewal notices much. Why not buy some extra child seats, seems like a cheaper option.

    Using NCD on second policy

I currently have my car insured fully comp with cooperative and have 9 years No Claims. I am thinking of buying a second car to use as a runaround(this is for family reasons, so that my parents can use my car for ferrying my kids around without having to swap around the car seats)

I know that with the same insurer you can't apply the NCD to two policies, however if I were to keep my insurance with cooperative, and then buy another policy elsewhere would I be able to use the renewal notice from Cooperative so that I could claim the same amount of NCD on both policies?

Does anyone know if this is possible, or if there is a law against it, or if the insurance companies could tell via the insurance database?

Many thanks in anticipation of your response.

    Tim.
