    Re: Motor Vehicle Assessment

You are not legally allowed to keep or drive a vehicle on a public highway without a valid tax disc.

If you are exporting the vehicle permanently and you are doing this from S'oton then I'd put it on a trailer and get a road-legal vehicle to take it.

An MOT is not enough, you will need tax, MOT, insurance to drive the car legally anywhere. If you do not have any one of these elements, then any insurance is likely to be invalid.

    DON't DO IT!

    Motor Vehicle Assessment

I have recently bought a BMW 318i which is not taxed. I intend to export it out of the U.K .soon. I would appreciate it if someone out there could tell me if i am allowed to drive it to Southampton port without it being taxed, however with an MOT. If not, what are the cheapest options i have to transport this vehicle. I also need to have the car checked (assessed) completely before it leaves the country so that i can do any repaires needed on it. Please give me the cheapest options for doing this. Im based in Birmingham (West Midlands). Please help!!!
