Re: Rate Madasafish on our new Customer Reviews

We got madasafish just over 2 years ago as the package they were offering at the time seemed reasonable and the reviews were good. We were paying £25.99 per month. However, we occasionally went over our download limit and started getting charged almost £40 per month which was ridiculous. We looked around and Be were offering unlimited downloads and a faster connection for £18. The problems with madasafish came when we tried to move over. We asked for the Mac Key and informed them of the changeover date and they said it had all been sorted. It clearly hadn't when they continued to take money out of our account for a service they weren't providing. We rang, they basically said it was our fault for not checking that the service was in fact "moved over" (err, hello, I'm not an internet provider) and we wouldn't be refunded that month's payment although they would refund the following month's payment. The guy was shirty, not at all helpful or apologetic and obviously quite useless because the following month came along and rather than refund the money they in fact took it out. Again. In spite of assurances that this would definitely NOT happen. The customer service when you try (and I emphasise try) to cancel is horrendous, they are ridiculously expensive compared to other companies and I certainly wouldn't recommend them.

Re: Rate Madasafish on our new Customer Reviews

I have been a customer of Freenetname which later merged with Madasafish, since February 2004. A very long time and with some justification, as I found them extremely customer friendly and always quick to sort out any problems with accounts or service.

However, since they have been purchased by BT or is that a subsidiary company PlusNet, the level of service has been terrible.

In April, Madasafish offered existing customers a £30 "Referral Bounty" and a free case of Virgin Wine to the value of £74.99. I haven't received either. They promised "within 28 days of the service going live" they will be sending the voucher. However, there is no reference to when you will receive the £30 referral bounty. You may need to read their NEW Terms and Conditions (which of course you had no idea had been changed, previously referrals were credited to your account within 28 days) which states that this will not be paid for 3 months with no acknowledgement of your referrals. You would be forgiven for not remembering who you referred 3 months earlier without any reminders in your account.

Since the changeover, I have also been charged a fee for upgrading to their Premier Max which I was not informed of. This has subsequently been re-credited.

    Madasafish before BT purchase 9/10

    Madasafish after BT purchase 1/10

If you have received similar treatment........Post your story here........

Re: Rate Madasafish on our new Customer Reviews

Hello - I have been with Madasafish, formerly known as Totalise, for over two years. (With Totalise for three years before that). I can only say that the Company has been excellent in every was in helping me sort out any problems, even so far in that its' chief Executive Officer Mr. David Laurie has on a couple of occasions telephoned me in person. Although their helpline in situated in South Africa, it is still only a 4p per minute 0844 number to dial, and usually I have found that Madasafish will telephone me back at their expense, and spend as long as it takes to iron out difficulties. Mostly the problems in the past have actually been proven to be BT Line Faults, not a problem with Madasafish. They have sent me FREE replacement filters, also a replacement Wireless Router, and "talked me through" the technical bits. Great, for a novice like me (aged nearly 68).

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Madasafish - I get (almost) 2Mb speed, and I pay £10.99 per month for the first 6 months (new contract just signed) thereafter it will be £17.99 I think. And they will give a £20.00 incentive to me when I recommend a new subscriber, plus £10 to the new subscriber also. Altogether a good deal.

Jason - are you adding NTL to this forum because if you are ... (rubbing hands together waiting to rip them to shreds!) ...
