    I felt like it.

Why are you suddenly complaining about posts that are being made in dormant threads? Surely this is more pointless than what I'm doing? I rest my case. Have a good day. :

    Re: BTconartistgreedysuckers

I must agree here. It's all too easy to be pulled in by the word free. Too many people make their own problems unwittingly becaue they don't read the small print. It's always available for the customer to read, though some sites do make it a little dificult to find. But it is there nonetheless. I get the same deal as this person, but I understand that I pay a small fee for this priveledge. I've been with BT for a few years now and have been happy with the service I've been receiving. Any time there's been a problem its been sorted out, I've been late with a bill only once and they gave me the chance to pay it again as it also states in the small print, even gave me the chance to pay it in two bits, which I did immediately, as it only bounced back because I didn't get the money for the bill put into my account until the morning it was due out, which was too late... basically every time there's been a problem, BT have always sorted it out and I've gone back to normal or better. Certainly better in a recent problem I had with them. Sounds like you should have read the samall print.

Also, you shouldn't sign a contract because someone else you know wants you to. If you were that sure BT were con artists you should not have signed the contract in your name already believing they were scam artists, no matter how much he begged and pleaded. Should have made it out in HIS name if he wanted it that badly, then no hidden fees would have been payable to you, they would not legally have been your responsibility. But I reiterate, there doesn't appear to be hidden fees in this case. Just charges they tell you all about in the small print, and I for one always read the small print for things just like this. :)

    Re: BTconartistgreedysuckers

    Be careful here people.

MOST service providers give broadband on a 12 month contract that is usually pretty water-tight.

As with any on-line contract, there is USUALLY a cooling off period of seven days within which time you have the right to cancel the contract without incurring costs.

You also need to be careful about what it is your are posting on forums. This is a BROADBAND forum and as such voice-related issues should be avoided as it makes it difficult to give advice - and bear in mind that most of us are merely volunteers and are trying to help.

Perhaps Moneysupermarket.com will add another group for Voice Services so we can focus on these problems like BT bills and how they are made up (itemised).

One final thought on this. Nothing in this world is FREE and if you think something is too good to be true - it usually is. BT has been around for years and is a successful company. They would not be that way if they were guilty of 'sharp' practices or illegal activities. Regrettably, many of the problems that face consumers are down to their inability to read the costs and liabilities. They see the word FREE and then fail to see the small print that says (subject to a monthly fee of ...). Sometimes people make mistakes and sometimes companies make mistakes. The difference is when companies become complacent and that is when the trouble sets in.

    Re: BTconartistgreedysuckers

you can always have the right to switch to other providers..
if youre not satisfied with their service..
if you have a rolling contract i think there's no cancellation fee to that..

    Re: BTconartistgreedysuckers

ITS BT TOTAL BROADBAND WHERE AT THE END OF THE APPLICATION IT ASKS YOU TO CHOOSE OR TICK WHICH SCHEME YOUD LIKE, AND I TICK THE ONE FOR FREE WHICH ACTUALLY SATES THERE WHEN I WAS APPLYING. YOU CAN SEE DOWN BELOW A PART OF THIS I APPLIED FOR. THIS IS WHAT THEY PUT ON THE WEBSITE AS I APPLIED LAST NIGHT.: i PUIT IT ON BRACKET

(No additional charge for UK (Local and National) calls for up to an hour per call at evenings and weekends.
All BT Broadband Talk charges appear on a separate quarterly BT Broadband Talk bill. Rental is charged in advance and any chargeable calls in arrears. FREE )IF IT WAST OFFERD FREE I WILL NOT TICK IT AS I DONT DO MUCH FONE CALLS AS IM ALWAYS ON THE NET. AND USES MOBILE FONE IF NEEDED TO CALL ANYBODY.

    Re: BTconartistgreedysuckers

IT SEEMS YOU MISUNDERSTOOD WHAT iM SAYING HERE. tHERE WASTN A CHARGE AT ALL WHEN i APPLIED FOR IT ON THE NET. oTHERWISE I WOULD NOT APPLY FOR IT. i HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PAPERWROK YET, AS i JUST APPLIED IT OVER THE NET. aLSO I DONT DO FONECALLS, SO I DONT NEED THAT SCHEME.

iM REPORTING SOMETHING NOT ASKING FOR YOUR OPINION. THEY SHOULD STATE EXACTLY WHAT THEYRE OFFERING HOW MUCH ITS GONNA COST, IF THEY PUT IT FREE BEFORE I SIGNED UP THEN IT SHOULD BE FREE AND DONT PUIT ADDITONAL CHARGE AFTER I RECEIVED THE EMAIL CONFIRMATION. THE CONFIRMATION OF MY APPLICATION IS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT I APPLIED FOR. iM SIGNING FOR BROADBAND ,NOT THE TELEPHONE.

    Re: BTconartistgreedysuckers

Without seeing the product paperwork that you have signed up for, I believe you may have misconstrued the £2 charge........

this is a monthly "fee" to ENTITLE you to UNLIMITED FREE CALLS.....................so, depending upon your call volume, you should still be better off even after the £2 fee when you compare what the calls WOULD HAVE COST....................

I have a similar quartely scheme whereby I pay a fee, but then I get free calls, so I still "SAVE" money on a net basis.

let me know what scheme you are on...............

as you know, there is nothing called a "free lunch"..................BT have obviouisly done the economics on this offer and believe overall they will breakeven......................

    Re: BTconartistgreedysuckers

    Hi destroyallconartist

That's interesting about the evening and weekend call charge since they do state that they are free, (is this BT Total Broadband or BT Broadband?).

BT prides itself on the fact that although it's more expensive it has better customer service, it sounds like in your case they must have overlooked this a little bit.

You can always switch away unless you're inside your minimum contract period, and that would cost you money to switch.

    Cheers

    Jason

    BTconartistgreedysuckers

I dont know how does BT get away with tricking almost all ppl on england under their nose. I just sign up for the bt broadband, which say evening, and local calls up to one hpurs is free, then when I received my order confirmation there was a charge of £2 every month,

I have signed a black and white contract on their website knowing everyhting is clear and yet yet they change it the sooner you received what you order. How can they do this. I've trouble with them in the past, so I didnt wanna trust them again, but my partner insisted, believing him thast it was ok, but I was allrigh all the time. Also I thight we're only paying £6.00 a monht for evening internet connection which cuts off the line every two hours then you have to be reboot after 15 to 30 minutes, I didnt know that my husband pays extra£6.00 on Bt for the same service so all in all I didn't know he was paying £12.00 every months just for evening call? What a BTshark? Im sure thres a £12 00 worth of internet somewhere. why does British people allows a big shrk BT terlecom to get away with their greediness. £11 rental is too much for something dat doesnt do anyhting but hear phonecalls whihc we dont use all the time/ It maybe alright for a booming business, but at home where it just sit and does nohting but pluggeds in adverts from lots of shrk, wat the point of having to pay an expensive rubbish fone?
