Re: Motorpoint: has anyone had experience of them?

The car will most definitely be an import hence the 2 year warranty. Sometimes there "UK spec" isn't quite the same as a "UK model" (ie alloy wheels would be different, but they would have alloy wheels none the less). 2 cars in the last 5 years from them and no problems with the cars, both were Fords, originally from Netherlands or Germany I think. I get them serviced locally by dealer.

My only gripe with Motorpoint is the sales technique. They really push every add-on heavily. Been close to hanging up the phone with the sales rep. I want the car with no frills hence the reason for buying from supermarket. If I wanted a £300 warranty, £200 cleaning & polish kit etc I'd go elsewhere anyway...... stay strong and say no to everything and you should walk away happy.

Good choice of stock though and most times prices have been unbeatable. Also consider www.trade-sales.co.uk in Slough, but not as big or as good choice of stock.

    Good luck!

My employer has bought several cars from Motorpoint. Would recommend. Good service and cars have all been good quality. Check if the car is an import if warranty less than 3 yrs. Dlr will sell a years additional warranty for about £400. Good luck.

jjnaughalty:Any of the type of car you're after knocking round your local main dealer for similar money? They may try to price match...

I've not had any personal experience with Motorpoint, but jjnaughalty has a good point there.

I always revert back to 'fair car / fair price'. Despite having never used them, if the car is right, the price is right and they do what they say they'll do then they have got to be ok... Any of the type of car you're after knocking round your local main dealer for similar money? They may try to price match...
You gotta tie yourself to the mast my friend, and the storm will end.

Motorpoint: has anyone had experience of them?

Hi, I am looking at buying a new car and Motorpoint has appeared on the radar because of price. HAs anyone used them? Any good or bad points?

The car is UK spec but only comes with a 2 rather than 3 year warranty. I intend to keep the car for 3-years so that won't affect any resale value.

    Thanks
