    Re: ideal broad package

    Hi Ranee

TalkTalk always provokes strong reactions - a lot of which goes back a couple of years when they were massiviely oversubscribed following a free broadband offer. As with any large provider the volume of customers means that there will always seem to be more negative comments than a smaller provider - 1% of 1,000,000 is obviously higher than 1% of 100,000!!!

However, TalkTalk offer a very competitive price (especially now at £3.89 per month via our site) and I am not really in a position to advise whether you would get good service as I am not a customer. It would be worth looking at 02 - they seem to have a great attitude to customer service and a good package - well priced with free wireless router.

My final comment would be this - we sometimes get too concerned with customer service - for example I have been with Virgin Media for my broadband package for the last two years and have never had to contact them once since I plugged my router in at home - I wouldnt have a clue whether their customer service is awful or not!!

    regards

    Re: ideal broad package

Oh please Mr Expert, answer this one! I can't wait!

Problem Ranee is that MS has just started to promote TalkTalk so they can't exactly be "objective" any more.

As someone who has been in IT Support for in excess of 25 years and runs an IT Support Consultancy I can safely say that TalkTalk are as bad as Tiscali/Pipex. TalkTalk is owned by Craphone Whorehouse who also owns AOL. Unfortunately, they don't own the physical network, so they are parasites on BT's system.

If Broadband is important to your business or your life, then stay away from "cheap" as this is what you will get. There are only TWO Internet Service providers who own their own network in the UK, BT and Virgin Media (there is another out in the boondocks of Hull but that is not important here).

Personally, I would go for a BT service every time. The only problems we encounter are rare and only cost us ONE phone call as there is no-one else for them to blame.

    SHARK!

    ideal broad package

    Hi,

I am at prsent with tiscali boroadbnd with a charge of $11.99 per month with weekend calls free and bt rental of £10.99 per month. I would say internet connection is ok and only their customer service is poor. I am thinking of swithcing to talk talk as they offer a cheaper rate. but after reading this forum i am worried as most of talk talk customers are not satisfied with their servce.

could the expert give me some advice on the best cheap package and about talk talk service, is it reliable and i am a average internet user and send emails and browise internet and not into downloading much things

    thanks

    ranee
