Re: BAD SERVICE FROM CURRYS AND HOOVER ANOTHER UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER
Jason,
I understand your point of view with your 000's of queries coming in, but that excuse is exactly the excuse problem of companies such as SKY etc that people writing to your site about such companies are experiencing !!!
If the volumes you are experiencing are too high to monitor and handle properly, then this should be made clearer on your website
nevertheless, at least MY input has resulted in a response to Christy.................as otherwise she would still be waiting I guess
Let's hope your suggestion to her works.................

Re: BAD SERVICE FROM CURRYS AND HOOVER ANOTHER UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER
Christy
First of all I want to apologise for not responding to you sooner.
As you can imagine with over 4,500 users and growing every day we cannot keep track of every query in each thread. We have a section in the Forum called Ask the Expert, this section is monitored closely and we aim to respond within 24hrs. There is a Shopping section there. I would ignore the comments of Linford, we do care about all of our customers and forum members, but when you're working full time on running a comparison site AND answering media or forum queries it can get very busy.
Ok so back to the issue of your washing machine. You bought it from Currys and it was faulty and at present the washing machine is covered by the warranty provided by Hoover is that right?
If the product is under warranty then it's the responsiblity of Hoover to make sure it's repaired not Currys. Have you taken this issue to Trading Standards or better still the Consumer's Association? Under the Sale of Goods Act if you've not had a fully operating washing machine but you have paid for it, then they are in breach of that agreement.
Let me know how you get on with Trading Standards?
Kind Regards
Jason Lloyd

Re: BAD SERVICE FROM CURRYS AND HOOVER ANOTHER UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER
Hi Christy...
Please note that this is the public forum and is not monitored by our team of experts. They answer questions within the "ask the expert" area and are therefore unlikely to spot your query in this section.
However, I have raised this thread with shopping expert Jason Lloyd. He will respond shortly.
Thanks a lot.

Re: BAD SERVICE FROM CURRYS AND HOOVER ANOTHER UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER
I purchased a Ariston washing machine from Currys in Torquay on 3rd Sept 2006 for £299.95, 7 weeks later and I have problems with the drum and locking devise. I contacted customer services who state I must have it looked at by an engineer (and this could cost me). Not happy with this response I go into Currys store and ask for the Manager, I am directed to not the manager, but someone on the customer service desk. he told me I must get the engineer to confirm the problem and then I can take the machine back and they will replace it.
Engineer arrived and said I needed a new drum and locking devise. So I contacted Currys and asked when I could bring back the machine for my replacement. They said I couldn't it must be repaired and then told me that it was not their problem, but Ariston main dealers and I must contact them myself. Ariston's said the machine must be repaired at least 3 times before they would replace it. I argued that it was a brand new machine and should be replaced all to no avail. No one was interested. They wanted my money, but once things went wrong they didn't want to know.

Re: BAD SERVICE FROM CURRYS AND HOOVER
Hi lindford04
Thank you for your reply, I do agree with you, and the post does need answering and these companies should take responsibility for there mistakes, Currys and Hoover have been absolutey, useless. I would never ever buy anything from these companies ever again, my family and friends have spent thousands of pounds, on there products, they have lied to me, blamed this whole incident on washing tablets I have never heard of anything so stupid, as an exscuse for the engineers incompetence, and his blunders. My guarantee, is up in January 2007, I only accepted the shop warranty on this machine, because I think it is wrong that you can pay extra for a 3 year warranty only, to have the year your entitled to, added to this. Lindford04 have you had any bad experiences with these companies. Christy.

Re: BAD SERVICE FROM CURRYS AND HOOVER
Hi everyone, this morning I got a letter from Hoover, suggesting that I take on, some insurance for my washing machine with them. What a cheek, as you can see in my letter above. Hoover have done nothing to sort out this problem with my washing machine, which is still under guarantee till January 2007. Why on earth, would I even contemplate taking out insurance, with the likes of Hoover. I am absolutely disgusted with there incompetence. Can anyone offer any advice on this issue, including the Moneysupermarket staff. Thankyou all.

BAD SERVICE FROM CURRYS AND HOOVER
When the repair man came round to fix my washing machine, because it was leaking, he said there was a manufactories fault on the door of the Hoover machine, I told him I did not want this machine because of the problem with the machine, he totally ignored me , and continued to fiddle around with the door, said the machine was alright and left. I started using the machine went out ,left my older son at home, he telephoned me, panicking, to tell me my kitchen was flooded, I could not believe it , so if you have got an Easy Logic 1300AA HP13, please let me know, if you have also had a problem with water coming out of the door, because the engineer had to retract, what he had said about the faulty door, he told me it was my fault, because my washing tablets, had blocked my machine, Asda's own make, were the course of the leakage. I was furious with this, I have used all sorts of washing tablets for years never had any problems before, the flooding this engineer, had caused made all the water go under the cooker, I tried to claim of Hoover for the cooker, and asked them and currys, to give me a new washing machine, they refused. The Washing machine still had problems, I went to Currys, they sent the same engineer out again, how insensitive is this, I was worried incase he flooded my kitchen again. He turned round and said can you hear that noise, I said what noise, he told me my washing machine was blocked, told me he would charge me, and left. Hoover then decided when I rang them, about this, that I should pay a call out charge of 89.00 I told them for what doing nothing. I refused to pay, bought in a solicitor, and they cannot do nothing for me, please can you help me, Ive been intouch with trading standards, previously over this, who said I had a case because this washing machine was not fit for the purpose. Currys and Hoover have been an absolute nightmare. With Hoover you cannot get through I have spent a fortune on the phone ringing these two Companies. I am very disappointed in both of them. Please let me know if anyone else had experience this problem or bad customer service, with these two.
