    Re: Painless Broadband

I have read through all of the moans and groans of getting Sky BB. Oh am I lucky. I did actually contact them to get connected but the lady I spoke to said I was unable to get broadband where I was, Bristol. She actually said like it was outer Mongolia! When I stopped laughing
I said that I was and I was getting my broadband at 5Mbps. Well the story did change, she came back that I didn't have sky tv and so wasn't able to have this service.....eh???? I've had Sky digital for 8yrs. and if I didn't have why was they taking money from my account every month? The phone was put down on me. Oh lucky, lucky me

    Re: Painless Broadband

I too had a totally pain free set up, instantly connecting at 16meg with a constant connection, I was called by a knowlegeable person from Sky a few days later to check that all was OK...

...Then I had a call from the lottery people congratulating me on winning the Euro lottery jackpot, which was nice!

and to top it all off, I discovered a cure for all known deseases growing on a piece of stale cheese under the fridge...

    BUT THEN I WOKE UP!!!!!

The chances of everything going smoothly are about as likely as me becoming the next Pope!

    get Sky Broadband succesfully 1,000/1
    win the lottery 100,000,000/1...
but a lottery ticket doesn't cost £10.00 a month and 10p a minute on the phone!

    Paradise [ip] Painless Broadband

After reading the messages on this forum I felt a little apprehensive about placing my order with Sky in mid October. The hardware was was sent through post shortly after and my line was migrated in early November. I plugged in the Netgear router, entered the security key and it worked first time. Less painful that setting up my original Netgear router with another ISP!

I appreciate that lots of you have had problems and I wish you all success in getting it working but I can say that it has been plain sailing for me and that it is not all bad. The best bit is that it is a tenner cheaper than my last ISP.

I would like to state that I am not employed by Sky, Rupert M, or son-of-Rupert M! ;-)
