i have just come out of my company contract , and i have been allowed to keep the sim and number which means i had to take a contact for min of one month with orange who are the current provider . i have my own phone so i am looking for a very low use contact that will allow gprs on my sim for email and web , but call wise it will be around 100 mins per month and 50 text max . i will use this phone for personal purposes only thats why usage is low .

i want contact so i know the phone is always availability when i need it , what do you suggest

I've been thinking about 02 Simplicity tariffs. Online 10 - £9.79 per month for 150 mins and 300 texts.

It's a 30 day rolling contract too so you're not tied in if/when phone breaks. I'd check more carefully for web browsing though - it isn't something I use. I THINK o2 give you 1MB allowance, then charge after that, but not sure what charge is.

(btw - this is personal opinion. I've been with 02 for years and had no probs - I found this deal looking for myself. I'm not an expert on this stuff, and I haven't looked into many other suppliers.)

there are some great deals out there at the moment, i was looking for a while and found www.simonlydeals.co.uk quite useful for working out which is the best deal, ended up going with vodafone myself on a 20quid contract.

there are always new sim deals popping up all the time as networks compete with each other to grab customers. I managed to get a t mobile sim deal from www.uksimdeals.co.uk

The best deal I've found is the ASDA sim card, available in store free of charge when you put a minmimum of £5 credit on it. Calls cost only 8p per minute (any network) and texts 4p each. Beat that! You may have your existing number ported. You can top up by credit/debit card via your mobile phone or at a newsagent. I've been using it for several months trouble-free.

A mobile phone contract is the easiest way to scr*w your credit record for 6 years for the least benefit. For many people PAYG at these rates would be a good idea.

I advise T-Mobile.

I am with them on a 30 day rolling contract Sim only deal. I pay £20 per month for 600 minutes unlimited texts and Free Web and Walk.
