regrettably if you have taken on the debt, you are liable. if you are struggling you could look at debt management. i am with a company called ashley park - pretty good, and i only pay them £300 per month when i used to pay out £1600 per month, and sorted my mortgage arrears.

Hi --- Initially you should seek to get these debts re-aligned so that your partner who ran the debt up actually takes some responsibility for the proportion of the amount she has burdened you with, regardless of the fact they are in your name.

If the loan and credit cards can be apportioned to goods or services that are obvious your ex partber has used or bought for her sole or even joint use, then seek the help of a Solicitor to either recover these amounts or get her undertaking that she will pay off at least the proportionate amount that she has had the benefit of enjoying.
