Re: Advice needed!!! Pipex failed to cancel my account

I am afraid to say that this is absolutely typical of this despicable company.

E-mails to terminate your contract are ignored as part of their routine and as for stopping direct debits, Pipex is one of the more infamous in banking circles for breaking the rules on direct debits or charge card withdrawals.

WRITE to them demanding that your account is closed and your account is not debited. Send the letter by recorded delivery and KEEP the proof of posting. Copy the letter to your bank for security as well.

I'm sorry to say that the only way I was able to save my business was to take them to court which I subsequently won but it still took THREE bailiff visits to retrieve the money that they owed me.

Pipex is a bully and a vile company with whom to do business. They provide shoddy service with even worse customer care. Their technical support is worse than useless and yet they charge you a premium rate. OFCOM couldn't give a monkey's and the office of fair trading seems also to be toothless. Customers are treated with total disrespect and I'd be happy to see these [people of doubtful parentage] out of business.

    SHARK!

Advice needed!!! Pipex failed to cancel my account

I have been with Pipex for 18 months and wanted to change service providers at the beginning of December as I found a cheaper provider. I contacted the Customer Service department and, after being kept waiting 15minutes, got through to someone who told me to cancel in writing and give 30 days notice. I then sent a letter to the Welwyn Garden City address I was given detailing my account number and phone number and asked them to cancel. I also sent a message on their Internet site (which comes up as a comments box on their 'contact us' page so I don't have a copy in my e-mail out box). I have today received a letter from Pipex demanding that I pay £29.99 for both december and january plus an additional £25 for late payment amdin fee. I rang up to query this and was told that neither my website message or my letter was received ans that unles I pay up in 7 days the debt will be sent to a debt collection agency. I paid £29.99 there and then for december but I dont see why I should pay for january and their admin charge when I know I cancelled the policy. They can also check and see that I have not used the service since mid-december as I assumed it was cancelled and started with another provider.I know I sent notice of my cancellation but they are denying receipt. Does anyone know where I stand with this?? Any advice would be great!

    Thanks,

    Hannah
