Where did you get the "74%" figure from? And could you just clarify what you meant in point 5 - ie what is "rapidly changing"? As to the reason why male drivers kill and maim and seriously injure nine/ten times as many people as female drivers, I would suggest that testosterone and machismo and bloody mindedness play a significant part in it, and with younger male drivers, also showing off and trying to impress and self image. As to your last point, I would rephrase it thus: 'simply because THEY ARE NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO DO SO' !!

    Ok....

Most women only really drive on school runs or to the supermarket. Both of which rarely involve going above 30mph.

When a man is in the car with a woman, the chances are that it is the man who is the driver.

When a man and a woman are on the dual carriage way or motorway, it is usually the man who is the driver.

We should all be able to agree that:

    1. Men drive on faster roads more often

    2. Men drive further than women

and if we agree with the above 2 statements, then 3. Men spend longer driving than women.

As such, it wouldn't surprise me that men have more accidents than women.

I think its great that car insurance is cheaper for girls!. For myself, i found that Girl Motor was the cheapest quote for me and gave me far better deal, women are much better drivers, i agree with one of the comments on here that us women tend to have more smaller crashes the odd bump in the car park and men tend to have big crashes and write off cars ect.. sorry men but its true!

"Woman are much better drivers"... Our survey says Ehh Ehhhhh. Woman are NOT safer drivers, and as already pointed out they DO crash more but at lower speeds, meaning they have CHEAPER (not less claims). Also mens car tend to be of a higher value, cost more to repair and the cost of insurance reflects this. Found this thread quite entertaining, especially the first post in which the woman thought it was magic that women pay less for car insurance. I think it's magic how the guy who posted after her burst her bubble =)

Yes its great for blokes too! Be a second driver under a womans name, not only do you save money but if you crash its her fault!

welcome back zoe, yet under a new alias. Lol, I seriously find this so funny that ur obsessed with this car insurance

issuse. Well for starters in 2007 the average women paid £65 less then men and old women actually pay more then men

(in the same period men earned 17% more the women £6,000 in an average full time job

which rises to over £40,000 in senior positions). So Yes wow a huge £65, which you can use to buy a good supply of always. yes a massive amount worth

making car insurance threads about? And when you consider that men pass with an average of 12 lessons less then females and women are much more likely to fail on first attempt (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article513993.ece)

then men, quite a nice saving for men £65 seems a little silly

Also for instance women pay more for health insurance, get lower pensions are paid less, and in general female goods e.g. clothes, makeup, feminine toiletries,

haircuts etc cost women more but no one is making threads about this, well why would they its stupid and childish and more importatnly a massive waste of time!!

Next did you think about this statement? Do men pay actually more? In some countries yes in many no and in many countries insurance isn't even required. And for the 2 million uninsured UK drivers, I don't think insurance costs are a problem, and in many countries were women are not even allowed to drive (and im not talking about one or two villages im talking about literally hundreds of millions of women directly (by law) banned from driving (and if you include other countries were women are "indirectly" (by the social and economic status of women) that number skyrockets so

I doubt gender plays an important issue in those countries!

And when do actually men pay for car insurance? - Teenagers is the only significant time,

and who normally pays for teenagers insurance - mum and dad i.e. You so it doesnt even affect those men, it affects you. After pay about the same and old women actually pay more then old men (and at the same time women receive lower pensions then men). And as I said men just simply get insured with a female.

So i dont understand, why the obsession about car insurance? No one really cares. men even created female insurance and even the marketing for Shiellas wheels is run by a man – Adrian Webb. If people really did care they would do something about it so seriously I don't mean this to be poky, but really what is the cause of this insurance obsession. If your so obsessed with car insurance then why dont you look at health, personal income, annuities and pensions all where women pay more then men.

    Please kindly answer my question

Actually, despite being female, I do have to agree.

Men are generally just much better people than women. I am always amazed at what a waste of space most women still remain.

Re: Women drive a good deal on insurance

Women are not better drivers than men. Women just do less driving than men. Women are not, on the whole, particularly good at doing things for themselves. Its much easier to complain and whinge and moan.

Ageism and sexism all rolled into one service. Man, I love this country. If only there was some kind of law to protect people like me (I'm a young male) against this.....oh wait.

They may, of course, also be wanting equal pay with the right to take six months maternity leave off every year. I'm ashamed to be woman. They are such a waste of space.

Re: Women drive a good deal on insurance

When do women pay for anything themselves? As far as I can they just use their husband's income while they pretend that they have 'child care' responsibilities that stop them getting a job but don't stop them going out and gettng drunk.

Re: Women drive a good deal on insurance

The original premise of this thread was that girl only insurance companies are cheaper. That is not what I have found when looking for cover on behalf of my wife. In fact all of the companies mentioned in this thread were at least 50% more than the lowest quote.

I suspect that the girls are having the wool pulled over their eyes and insurance companies can spot you from a mile off, the same way a mechanic can! (Yes, that is a generalisation - my wife assists me with bleeding the hydraulic lines and passing cups of tea on a regular basis and knows how to cope with understeer in a rear wheel drive car, unlike a great many male drivers.)

Why not find out who owns that girl only company and check out what they offer in their standard offerings, you may be suprised.
