Angry [:@] Proposal to Strike Off The Mobile Outlet?! Are they going to be in liquidation soon!!

Hi Everyone. Just checked the companies house and there is a note to say that there is a proposal to strike off the mobile outlet. I think if they are in troubles with the authorities, they will not live long and thay may go into liquidation.

Not surprising as i've been trying to contact them through emails for months without any result. I tries also to call them and same, no response and recently their phone line is disconnected.

Be warned pepole, do not take any cashback deals. Just read that E2save are in liquidation, and more 'ghost' companies will follow shortly.

Yes, the forum is full of mobile cashback horror stories with one after the other of these companies going to the dogs and throwing in the towel.

Your post serves as a further warning to people not to commit themselves to these, "too good to be true" deals. !!!

i beg it is true (the mobile outlet is going to be in liquidation soon). it is because they are really in trouble with their customers and also facing court hearing about the cash back claim.

Re: Proposal to Strike Off The Mobile Outlet?! Are they going to be in liquidation soon!!

Anyone got any further news about this?

The best I have heard is a family friend has apparently talked to trading standards because of not getting back several sent-for cheques, and the report back was that they have gone under - along with a reference number to contact the official receiver with if you feel that the tuppence or whatever share it is you may get back of their remaining assets would be worth the effort.

The advice they gave me was to just talk to T-Mobile (my current service provider) and get my contract knocked back from the hefty £42.50pcm it is at the moment (the "cheapest" cashback plan for the Nokia N70 I chose.... thought it would be worth the initial outlay for the later kickback... and MO was allegedly far better than CPW by word of mouth >_< ), given that i never use more than about 30-40% of the £120 Flext+Web allowance that provides....

Looking round the internet for further advice right now - just in case this was in error as any messing with my contract will definitely destroy any chance of getting something back; their website is still up and running to the point of me being able to "order" a new phone and progress to the "enter payment & shipping details" page - and not really getting anywhere fast.

    Thanks for any help

I contacted T-Mobile last month advising them about what happened to me and they agreed to knock off £5.00 of my monthly bill. They told me this is the best they can do. If they didn't know about Mo, they wouldn't offer the discount for me. best thing is to talk to them ASAP.

It hardly matters. The sort of people who run these businesses will just start up a new operation. The sort of people who buy from these businesses will just buy into the next mugs' scheme. It'll never end.

Unfortunatley have just gone trough the small claims proces and isuing of warrent to find out that the have closed and obviously am now even more out of pocket, what can be done to protect us from the money grabbers who run these companies and simply start again living no doubt a life of luxury in the meantime ?

i think in this case, suck it up as an instructive lesson in "sounds too good to be true = is" (and I'm saying that from a position of having overpaid the best part of £200 since august), and get onto your actual service provider to have your plan reduced. TMobile, after some gentle poking, have been exceptionally nice about the whole sorry affair, and my monthly bill is now something like £27.50 instead of £42.50 ... still quite a bit, but in that is a £40 "FlexT" allowance (the equivalent of pay as you go credit - previously I had £120 but only once went over ~£36 used pcm) and unlimited internet access (worth its weight in gold given their hilariously overpriced PAYG/out-of-plan access prices), plus coverage of the substantial cost of my N70, so it's all good.

i prefer dealing with more established cashback providers precisely for this reason!
