Re: Talk Talk is a joke!

I would agree with you that this company are the pits. Since connecting in October I have spent at least £8 calling them and I get someone in a foreign country who I cannot understand let alone who can help me.
Last week I called since they had taken deducted 3 months rental ( £35..for the second time as I paid it last month )I could not believe it I was passed from one advisor to the next. In the end I had given my name and phone details to 6 different people. I was almost at screaming point . Is this their way of making money by keeping you on the phone so long.. I think I should claim back the cost of the premium rate calls I have made for their mistakes. I cannot wait for my contract to be finished and I can connectto a better organised company.

Interesting that the Talktalk employee says "wright to the Head Office"

obviously not too bright!! can't spell and doesn't include the head office address

Personally I wouldn't blame the poor staff, they can only be as good as the organisation that employs them!!

In this case no good at all!!!

    Hi boots,
I am very pleased your now happy with your service, but you still had to wait 3 months to get this problem resolved, I have never saved any money with this company, I have just made the mistake of signing up with this company again, due to the fact they went under a diffrent name, they kept my Mat code for a year, in February Ofcom have said no company has a right to do this anymore, but this has come to late for me. Talk Talk sent my name upto debt collectors when the problem they were supposed to be sorting out was still on going, they have taken money out of my direct debit when I had left them. A lot of the staff are rude over the phone, and they certainly cannot sort out problems they have made. This is just a few issues I have with Talk Talk you e-mail the owner he never answers any of his mail, this company are useless.

Re: Talk Talk is a joke!

I have had untold problems the main issue being that I was disconnected dozens of times a day, I finally got to speak to a tech 2 manager after 3 months and was very fortunate he knew exactly what the problem was and sent me out anethernet modem which he said was better able to cope with the speed of my connection and praise be all my troubles are at an end. I am at last a satisfied customer and think I now have a good deal as talk 3 international does save me an awful lot of money

What did your problem end up being?

I finally got a call back from tech2 who told me bt had said the line was ready before it realy was and that they would sort it out. I was now quite optimistic that I would get my broadband working soon. A week later I had a text message from talk talk saying that the fault had been cleared and I should now be able to connect. I tried to connect and everything is exactly the same! I have not heard off them since, even though I told them I can still not connect.

    Can it get any worse?

Re: Talk Talk is a joke!

    I had very similar problems.

Signed up in july, got nothing for two months - including the phone!!

When I got the go live pack for the broadband I could not connect. Tried for two whole months and was also advised that a Tech2 would need to talk to me after the usual help just tried the usual IT help scenario's of uninstalling the modem and shutting down etc etc.....

However a month later a Tech2 did call me. Not only this but it was an english person who actually knew about computers and was very helpful, consequently I am now live and enjoying fast internet for free.

The phone transferred across last month with no real glitches and I am finally 4 months into it enjoying the service I signed up for.

It is the best deal out there, and naturally if you don't pay much, you can't expect BT customer care standards. They are getting better and I believe worth sticking it out for.

I don't think that many out there are much better, and now I am close to being a satisfied customer if I block out the last three and a half months!!

Re: Talk Talk is a joke!

I agree with you Talk Talk is useless, I have had virtually the same problems as you, you could try sending an E-mail to the owner. Or refuse to pay the cancellation fees, due to the fact, that you have had very poor service and they breached there contract by doing this. The person working for Talk Talk on this website, needs to get back to the owner, to tell him, to sort out all these problems that concern his Company and give them there money back. Or find someone who can work for Talk Talk, who can do there job properly. Or give them basic training, on how to deal with customers problems in a satisfactory way. Good Luck.

    welovetalktalk:hello,

I work for talktalk, and i think we are making progress. Speaking to Ofcom isnt really the way forward though, as they are only a regulator, they dont own your phone line, or the telecommunications network. The best way to voice your opinion is to the Customer service teams over the phone, or by email. Or wright to the head office address.

    regards,

Hmmmm, I don't know what kind of wool they've pulled over your eyes, It must be high grade, unlike the service. But have you ever, as a customer, tried to contact customer service? I very much doubt it.

I have better things to do, such as tell the world what a bag of tripe your service is, than spend an evening on hold only to be disconnected by some moron who can't cope with the sheer volume of dissatisfied customers they've had to deal with all day.

A service should NOT be advertised, if it is below a satisfactory standard and demand for it cannot be supplied.

We, Talktalk's customers are paying to be guinea pigs. That is fundamentally wrong.

No offence to you personally, but please open your eyes!

    regards,

Re: Talk Talk is a joke!

I would like to change my broadband provider and considered Talk Talk but in view of these sort of comments (any many others), I wouldn't risk it. Price is one thing but without essential internet access this is the bottom line.

    Hope you get it sorted.

Re: Talk Talk is a joke!

Talktalk free broadband is a joke! What more can i say.

    Phone works fine. Broadband DOESN'T.

You Cannot get through to customer service even though it's premium rate.

They Do not reply to complaints made by mail or e-mail.

And believe it or not, I spoke to OFCOM and they just don't want to know!

Advice to anyone thinking of switching - DO NOT SIGN UP - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

    Talk Talk is a joke!

I ordered the talk 3 package at the end of september and received my 'go live' pakage at the beginning of October, long before the estimated go live date. I thought everything was going great until I tried to set up my broadband.

After trying every possible way of setting up the system and going through everything the 'helpdesk' suggested on about 5 occassions I still get no link light what so ever when I plug the modem in and I cannot connect to the network. I must have been on the phone to the help desk at least 20 times by now, where I have either been cut off, lied to or passed to some other unrelated department.

I have now established that I need to speak to a 'tech 2' operator as the normal tech support dont have a clue what the problem is and I have been told it will take 2 weeks to call me back! Of course, I probably wont be there when they call and will have to phone the helpline again to arrange another call out. I have already been without broadband for almost a month and I am no closer to finding out what the problem is.

The only solution I can see is to cancel the whole thing as I have given up hope of speaking to a 'tech 2'. So now I have to go through the hassle of trying to cancel the service without paying the £70 cancellation fee.
