Re: £ 277.00 cancellation charge from BT

    Hi Landshark,

Thank you for your reply, I am sorry it is a bit confiused, immagine how i was confused when UI found out that they wanted £277.00 from me.

I joined back BT from a previous provided only for the line rental so I asked for Option 1, the sales proposed me to get an offer as I was rejoining BT, of Option 2 at same price of Option1.

I received the confirmation of the contract starting on the 08.08.2007 saying that the contract was for 18 months and the offer was only for 12 months and that I had 7 days to cancel. On the 13.08.07 I called to say that I was not made aware of this difference and that I wnated the Option 1 for the 18 months, the adviser kindly downgraded it and also refunded to me £ 4.50 for some hidden charges.

I have joined Virgin media to bundle2 adsl, so I thought that this was the reason why they wanted to charge me. But listen the email I have received today from BT (India) says that the cherges has applied because I have cancelle the Option 2 to get Optio 1.

I hope I am dreaming this cannot happen in the 2007!!!!! This is extortion!!!

Hope this explain better!! Please if you have any adviceto gime me I will appreaciated. I would like to take them in court but I do not know if I can.

    Thanks

    Sorry, a little confused here.

What exactly did you sign up for from BT. if it was just a line, then you are cancelling nothing so there should be no charge. However, if you got a package that included broadband, then this is the cost of buying out the remainder of the contract and this is normal practice.

There is nothing wrong with having the BT line and then having the VM package over the top of it, I think that somewhere in the conversations, someone has made a mistake and this is the result.

    SHARK!

Embarrassed [:$] £ 277.00 cancellation charge from BT

Hi Can someone help me please??? I have Joined BT option 1 for £10.50 per month because I was asked by Virging media that in order to apply for a bundle I needed a BT line.

I was never made aware from BT sales of any cancellation charges, but what is crazy is that I have never requested to cancel the service I want carry on paying the 10.50 per month and paying also Virgin for the Bundle.

This is very unfair, do I have any rights to appeal against this??

Please please let me know what to do??
