    Re: pre exising medical condition

    Hi Scoob

All the advice given so far is correct, even if the insurers do not deem it to be serious then you should still declare it as it could prejudice a claim if you don't.

The exception to this is if your policy has a list of 'Acceptable Conditions' as you may find that this is included within that list which should mean that you would not have to go through a medical screening process. However, even if it is included in the policy as a condition that does not have to be declared it may still be worth giving them a call as you have only just had surgery. This may affect how they view the condition.

Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to these things. Hope the treatment continues to go well.

    Hi Scoob

I have a friend who suffers with Endometriosis so I can sympathise with you to some degree.  I can't see insurance companies either refusing or loading your insurance for this condition but you should disclose it.

I would imagine that the  insurance companies will have a standard list of conditions that they will not cover or will load your premium for (correct me if I'm wrong on this folks) and I cannot for a minute think that Endometriosis is one of these conditions.  However, it's always better to be safe than sorry with insurance and tell them about it.

Good luck and I hope that your treatment goes well.

    Hi scoob,

As a general rule, you should always notify your insurer of a long term or chronic condition. In this case it is unlikely to result in adverse insuring conditions being placed on you.

    SHARK!

PS: If you need local support groups let me know and I'll see what is available.

If you do not disclose this condition or any other that may even be minor! then you are running the risk of your insurance being nul and void.

    pre exising medical condition

    Hey there,

I have just been diagnosed with Endometriosis, i am not taking any medication for it at the moment, i have just had surrgery. I am still under a consultant to discuss treatment. It is connected with the menstral cycle and therefore i dont see if being effected by flying or any other activity whilst on holiday. Generally it is controlled with pain killers.

Do i have to inform the insurance companies of this or not?

Also could this effect the cost of the policy?

If so do you have any specialist insurance companies that i should try?

     Many thanks.

    Scoob
