I have had the same problems myself. We bought 2 memory foam pillows. After a few days, my face broke out in a colorless raised rash. I never suspected the pillows. First I changed my shampoo, conditioner, laundry deterget etc. Every day the rash would clear up by bedtime and then when I woke up it would be even worse than the day before. I also had swollen glands in my neck, dizziness, nausea, nosebleeds, and depression so severe I considered suicide (which is not normal for me). I am normally a very happy person and thought I was losing my mind. Finally I decided to Google 'Memory Foam Rash' and I found hundreds of people with the same problems. The Memory Foam industry is trying to say that it is 'overheating' causing the rash. But this could not be true for a pillow. I threw the pillows out and haven't had anymore symptoms. According to the website: 'The symptoms vary from rashes to sinus problems, or swollen, inflamed red and itchy eyes and skin, difficult breathing, enlarged lymph nodes (sign of inflammation), irregular heartbeat, vomiting, fever, asthma symptoms, sore throat, nose bleed, diarrhea. People reported the same symptoms even in pets (like cats). Some even reported lymphoma (blood cancer) in dogs exposed to these mattresses.' Other psychological symptoms associated with Memory Foam are panic attacks and severe depression. If anyone else is having these symptoms, remove the mattress! It will make a world of difference.

Hi, A good quality mattress ensures a good night's sleep and hence a person strongly desires to have the best kind of mattress for himself. There are various types of mattresses like innerspring mattress, futon mattress, air mattress, water beds, adjustable beds, and memory foam mattresses from which you can choose the best mattress. However, amongst all these types, memory foam mattresses are often cited to be the best.

We,ve just bought a Re-ly-on memory foam mattress. It felt more responsive when there were no sheets on it, and I only had to use one memory foam pillow which we chose in the shop - I tried it out at home when it was unwrapped with the same result. However as soon as a matress protector and sheet go on top, I need an extra thickness under the pillow. The husband is getting more pain in his left shoulder than he usually gets (sadly on the side where he doesn't snore) since getting it (only been on it 3 nights). I have told him it may get better as he gets used to the matress. He is reluctant to remove the protector as he doesn't want to get ithe mattress dirty. I have not noticed if I am warmer or not. My feet and lower legs still remain cold all night which make me wonder if that is why I maybe sinking too far in the middle, as it is supposed to be heat responsive, and therefore my head and shoulders are at a more acute angle to the bed, hence the need for extra pillow height. I do not feel I am sleeping "straight". The saving grace is that I am feeling les creaky, so it must be helping - I feel no pressure point pain anymore - whooppee - but am worried about the husband relating his pain to the mattress, when he was suffering before but not to the same degree.

Yes, we did trythat alas to no avail. We have now bought a pocket sprung mattress and her rash has now cleared, it took nearly 8 weeks to clear.

One thought I do have is that a mattress protector may help - aside from the obvious (it protects the mattress), it would offer another barrier between the mattress and your (potentially non-memory foam liking) skin. Jim I love my memory foam 'hybrid' mattress :) (6 Inches of memory foam over pocket springs) :):):)
