Re: Problems with Cashback Claims on Mobile Phones

I understand that u are interested in hearing about problems claiming cashback.I started 2 phone contracts through phonebox direct with the promise of £420 cashback.I now find that they have gone into administration & am left paying £35 a month to T Mobile, who say its not their problem!  I told them that I cant afford £35 p m but the most they are willing to offer is a £5 reduction which is what is available to new customers on their website & not what I call a rescue package.I am disgusted at the mobile networks wahiong their hands of this problem, when it is they who encourage such companies with cash incentives to sell their airtime.I would be interested if u have any advise on what to do with T Mobile.

Hello everyone! I am working on a new prime time consumer programme and we are investigating Cash Back deals. There seem to be a lot of people unhappy about the terms and conditions, the cheating and the fraud. The industry seems to just turn a blind eye, so i am looing for stories and case studies of those who have been ripped off. You don't have to appear on TV, but legally i need to build a case against a company before we attack them!

If you have been ripped off by a cash back phone deal please email or call us us in confidence, and we will get to work on your behalf.

Problems with Cashback Claims on Mobile Phones

I have had a really bad experience with Phones2Udirect, an internet based company offering mobile phones with free 12 or 18 month contracts, re-imbursed through a cashback claim at the 6, 9 and 12 month periods.

I sent off my 6 months bills at the correct time, along with a letter detailing my mobile number, WEB reference number and a photocopy of the original purchase invoice.  My claim was refused, saying that I had failed to send the "original" purchase invoice.  I purposely did not send the "original" as I was worried that it would disappear, and I would then be unable to prove receipt.  I could not believe that my claim was refused on such a minor technicality and they also said that they would not enter into any further correspondance as the error was on my part.

I then sent the original purchase invoice by recorded delivery, which they received and signed for on 4th September, but as yet have had no reply.  I don't relly expect one either, judging by the comments and feedback left by other trusting customers of companies offering this kind of cashback deal.

I feel really let down and stupid to think that I have been conned in this way.  Has nayone else out there experienced similar problems with this or other companies?
