Re: Broadland via mobile instead of landline

    Hi Ann21

    Thanks for your email.

Indeed you can use your mobile rather than a landlne for your laptop saving line rental fees and giving you total mobility. However generally speaking it's quite expensive to do this through your mobile itself.

The good news is that mobile networks offer broadband through a datacard which you insert into your laptop which is far more cost effective than through your mobile.

Pros - total mobility, faster speeds at wireless hotspots, no line rental fees
Cons - slow speed for broadband (384Kbps) although Vodafone's services are 1.2 Mbps but pricey.

For me the best on the market at the moment is also the cheapest - T-Mobile Web n Walk professional is your best bet but be wary of the 12-18 mth contract lock in, (btw you get the data card for free if you sign up for 18mths).

    Kind Regards

Broadland via mobile instead of landline

Can I set up Broadband on my laptop connecting through a mobile instead of a landline? There are 2 reasons I'd like to do this.

    1. I use my mobile rather than the landline for calls so I could get rid of the landline and save BT's line rental charges.

    2. I could connect my laptop to broadband when on the move.
