    Re: life insurance

Ian is spot on with his sugegstions.  You should also consider w3hat your future position is likely to be - i.e. married with children, and that premiums increase with age.  You may also find that Life + CIC is sometimes no more expensive than CIC by itself.  Most CIC claims are in the 35-45 year bracket I believe.

    Re: life insurance

    Hi,

It all depends on your personal circumstances: Married or single? Dependents? Profession? and your attitude to risk?

If you are single with no dependents then critical illness on it's own is usually advised.

If you have dependents then critical illness + life is usually advised.

Decreasing term is normally associated with a repayment mortgage. level term is normally associated with an interest only mortgage or someone who wishes to retain a specific amount of cover for the term insured.

If you are single with no dependents and you are concerned about retaining an appropriate amount of cover if you are unable to work, Permanent Health Insurance is a viable option.

As with all insurances an adviser will recommend the most appropriate level of cover for your circumstances, but at the end of the day it is the your choice. The longer you leave it the higher the premiums will be.

    Regards

    Ian

    life insurance

My mortgage adviser has told me I should get decreasing with critical illness cover at a fixed rate but it costs 60 quid a month. As im a healthy 30yr old male im not gonna bother at the moment as I could do with the extra cash to buy things for my flat when I move in. Is this a bad idea and whats the minumum cover I require for my 170K Mortgage.
