Shouldn't do, it may even help as presumably the payments will be more affordable.

Most lenders will use a simple calculation of taking 1 years loan payments from your income before multiplying your income to work out how much you can get.

There are others that use an affordability calculator, but with this it would help too, so it's hard to see a tangilble downside.

The only downside I can think of is that you will have a recent search against your name - this is minor, but don't go getting credit searched by more lenders than you have too.
