HI there, you can check your elegibility on www.carphonewarehouse.com. Scroll down a bit and on the left hand side it says AOL BROADBAND, click on this and it will ask you to enter your number twice, do this click ENTER and it will tell you whether you are elegible or not. It will also tell you the price plans for your area.

    Re: Free laptop with aol

I rang aol yesterday to tell them the same thing, that i was cancelling my account with them to make use of the orange deal. I was told that they were doing the same deal and to go and sign up and that i definately WAS eligible even though i was already an aol customer. I havent recieved an e-mail to inform either way so far but will post here when and if i do. On the subject of AOL's reputation i went through months of connection problems which were never solved by a technician when i was still under minimum contract. The last few years though it has been a pretty solid service for me, despite that crappy aol software which sometimes does what it wants. But if you're using a router u can just bypass that anyway. One thing i will say is that aol still seem to be about the most expensive broadband provider out there at £29.99 for platinum.

    Re: Free laptop with aol

    Hello susie wong,

It is possible for suppliers to do this as any company reserves the right to change or remove promotional deals at any time but I would think it's more likely that the advisor just got it wrong.

An example - I called my supplier TalkTalk three weeks ago and asked can I down grade to Talk 2 Inter. to save £4 a month however they said you can after the 18 month contract. When i called today they said they will simply restart the contract and change me today which was I thought they could do.

It's not uncommon to get a different answer when you call again so I would advise on really good offers to call again the next day and ask the same question to verify.

Although in this case it may be a good thing you did not go for the offer as the offer may be good but you will pay for it by having AOL or Orange as your provider.

After mentioning those to words I can already here the "stampede" of upset Orange and AOL customers running to voice there dismay at the lack of service they so often receive.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration but in all seriousness they are not the best suppliers at the moment.

    Kind regards,

    Mike.

    Free laptop with aol

5 weeks ago I rang aol to say we wanted our mac code so we could change provider, (we are not under any contract with aol) I was asked why I wanted to leave and I told them I wanted to take up  the Orange/PC World free Laptop offer. They told me of there new offer of a free laptop with Carphone Warehouse and as we had no contract we would be eligible.  Yesterday I got an email saying as we are already with aol we are not eligible. I am really annoyed as the PC world offer has now expired. Can they change there mind like this? I would be grateful of your advise.
