Saga Car Insurance
Saga targets older drivers, and more than a million motorists are protected by its car insurance policies.
It views drivers over 50 as likely to make fewer claims on their car insurance than those under 50, and aims to reflect this in its premiums.
Saga car insurance policies
Saga offers three different levels of cover. The most basic is third party only, while third party fire and theft (TPFT) is the next level up from this.
Comprehensive cover is the top level of cover and includes high levels of cover as standard. This is more expensive than the before mentioned options but as with most insurers, paying premiums upfront will reduce the cost of this as interest is charged on monthly payments.
Other features include free windscreen repairs and vandalism cover, and emergency “any driver” cover which means that in a medical or motoring emergency, anyone with a full licence can drive your car, providing you are in it.
All policies are backed up by a high level of customer service including UK-based advisers which you can call up with any queries you have.
Whichever level of cover you choose, Saga will automatically provide the same levels of protection for those who drive in other countries within the European Union for an unlimited period. And, if your trip takes you outside the EU, Saga may also be able to provide you with a Green Card.
Additional benefits available with Saga car insurance
Saga car insurance offers a range of additional cover options with its policies, including up to £100,000 legal protection, increased personal accident cover, replacement car cover for up to 21 days if your car is stolen or written off, and up to £1,000,000 accident healthcare.
Policyholders can also benefit from a discounted rate on Saga Breakdown cover in the UK through a choice of five cover levels; this is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
However, increased personal accident cover and replacement car extension for theft or total loss are not available with third party only or TPFT policies.
If you need to make a claim, Saga car insurance offers a quick and straightforward service. All of its claims advisers are based in the UK, and in many cases you won't have to fill out any forms or obtain written estimates.
