I have been without a boiler since 6th December. it is a simple up to date vaillant boiler and not rocket science. i have waited for it to be fixed and received the worst service imaginable. they say it will be fixed and make me wait in all day. on average on such a day I spent over 1 hour on phone only to be told engineer is on his way or some such untruth. i spent Christmas and new year in freezing conditions. complaints mean nothing. Today is perfect example (6th Jan) i waited for man to arrive and was told he was definitely coming. At 8.00 pm I was told he was not coming and I would have to wait another week. DON'T be fooled by this company, you are paying over the odds for power and they do not meet their contracts and clearly have no intention of doing so.

Bought a new house and Scottish Power were the company Persimmon Homes signed up to on our behalf (that was the first mistake!). The national database for meters incorrectly put 2 electricity meters to my new home. I explained this the Scottish Power back in Aug 11. It's now December and they still can't sort this out. How difficult is it to align one meter to my home, record the correct meter readings and ensure the money I pay goes against the correct account? I think Scottish Power DO think this is rocket science!! I always thought no company would be able to beat Talk-Talk for utter incompetence - welcome to Scottish Power!!!!! Please think very carefully about signing up with them - don't say you weren't warned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't buy a Unifi meter (only made for Scottish Power) from anyone other then SP web shop - I did & i tried to get it connected to the SP Unifi web service (& offered to pay the subscription by the way) but because i'd bought it independently they won't allow me to subscribe to their web service or use any of its features! so the Unifi meter a waste of space. SP obviously only pretend to be green for marketing but it's just a ploy to sell one of their toys but offer no customer support I've been a Scottish Power dual fuel customer now for a number of years but they just don't want me to use a pre-owned smart meter on my account - surely its better to pass a surplus to requirements meter on to another SP customer rather than put into land fill? very very short sighted.

Present tariff coming to an end. Tried to find cheapest tariff Scottish Power had. Told to look in the media when asked which particular media no answer was forthcoming. I found out about one cheap tariff phoned Scottish power again to be answered by a womans who when you tried to ask a question replied you're not listening to me. How could she answer my question if she won't let me speak. Finally managed to ask about new tariff was I greeted with open arms. No questioned about how I knew about this tariff who told me. I replied I thougght we were supposed to ask about which was the cheapest tariff only to be told that is the cheapest tariff but won't last long and if you change today we'll charge you for breaking contract. Other suppliers may be dearer but service hopefully better
