Scottish Hydro Reviews

I have just had an hour long call with Scottish Hydro. 3 bed average sized semi and paying £200 a month for both gas and electric. A rated boiler, only half the house is ever heated for no more than 5 hours a day. Tariff doesn't exist, can't put us on any cheaper tariff, paying £2400 a year and get a letter asking for another £324 per annum. Every other provider can do the same for £300 less than what I *should be paying* (roughly £1600 p/a) Even Hydro's website states I should only be paying £1600 p/a I will do what everyone should do, vote with my extremely cold feet.

At the service goes, I've rarely received any interruption but that's the same as any other energy supplier I've been with. As for the billing and customer service - it's rubbish. I signed up for dual fuel by direct debit with paperless billing. In the five years I never did receive paperless billing. It has always been a terrible mess. I've always had to chase customer services up just to get a bill and eventually had to switch to paper billing at costing extra! I contacted customer services several times, they never bothered to fix the problem just sent out more paper bills. While I've never spoken to a rude representative, apathy across the board relating to this problem was rife. Never received an apology or even any assurance that the problem would be looked at or resolved.

Rather expensive but few billing problems , good website , most staff are helpful and pleasant. However, I have experienced an advisor basically screaming down the phone at me . This put me off from calling the hotline again.

Have had no issues at all with Scottish Hydro, they have adjusted bills where necessary (changes from estimates etc) and sent us a meter to measure electricity consumption. Very happy with customer service but just found other suppliers to be considerably cheaper.

Could not give me a single bill for gas and electricity, send 2 bills every quarter. Your account website has improved. No other problems in 3+ years
