we moved to Eon to benefit from tesco clubcard points but don't feel it is worth it any more. Not very happy that they let us build up nearly £150 in credit before reducing our direct debit- having that money not go out in the first place would save £££££ off our overdraft.

So here I am in January, after a real cold snap. I submit a meter reading, and despite being well in credit, they increase my D/D to £190/month. Ridiculous. Goodbye. Good riddance.

When E.on took over my old supplier they changed my meter. They said it was free, but later I got a bill for £130. They said this was because I paid by prepayment card and the prices in the shops had not been raised when they should have been. This means I bought prepayment cards at the price the shops requested, which includes all vat etc. A year later E.on take over the business and tell my 'You know those cards you use, well they should have been more expensive and we want £130 from you now. Call me a cynic but if you buy a prepayment card and use it then it should only cost you what the shops sell it for and there should be no more cost. Imagine Asda contacting you to tell you that your yearly shopping should have cost you another £130 and you now owe them that money. It's not on mate.

They appear expensive and switch you to more expensive tariffs at fairly short warning. They have submitted an inaccurate bill which would not have been corrected if I ad not been in the habit of checking every bill.

Having been with Eon for near a year now, although i have had little need to contact them verbally, i have found the online system to be good and accurate, and have entered my meter readings every few months before the due date just to keep a idea of usage etc. I think all tarriffs can be confusing but i have just changed to fix online 5 which is capped till march 2011.. they wanted to reduce my DD in the summer as i was so much in credit I pay 50 dor dual fuel and i called them asking not to reduce the DD as winter would be fast approaching. they kept my DD at the set rate and have had no problems so far... Tho after the big freeze i may not be so lucky as have just entered my meter readings ... id rate them ok, there all pretty much alike these days...
