I have recently come off Eon's Energy Saver v 4 and have been automatically put onto a tariff called EnergySaver R1 which seems very expensive for the electricity 24.84p/kwh for the first 225kwh as against the cheapest thro' Moneysupermarket which is EDF at 11.19p/kwh up to 900kwh. Although this all sounds a bit complicated I think our bill for duel fuel will drop from £690 per year to £211 !!!!! On the good side Eon have an excellent graph system for showing your consumption and whether it goes up or down, truely brilliant.

When we bought this house the previous owners were with Eon so we continued with them. Originally there was a pre pay meter installed which I had removed almost immediately. The payments started at £50 per month for duel fuel then after about 6 months they reduced to £20 which we could not understand. Last week I received a letter saying payments were increasing to £159 so i rang to query, turns out the meter they removed had been installed elsewhere and thier payments had been credited to our account meaning we were £600 in debt. I provided them with a meter reading and received a letter today saying the payments were now £219. An increase of £199 with less than a months notice to pay! Avoid this supplier! Once the debt is paid I will be switching.

Just changing from them as I had overpaid by £220. When I challenged them they said they normally repaid after the meter reading in April but no suprise they hadn't read it. Then wanted to keep the money as the winter quarter was coming up and I would be using more fuel. Insisted on a refund and then 2 weeks later got a letter putting price up by £10 a month! How can that be if gas prices have fallen and I have overpaid by £18 a month during the previous year

After moving house we stayed with eon and everything seemed to be straightforward. I innocently assumed the monthly direct debit would continue as had been verbally agreed and it was not until the end of the quarter and a bill arrived for well over £400 that it became clear they hadn't been continuing with the DD. Not a great start to a new year and it caused bigger bills for the rest of the year as I paid off the debit. Now at the end of my fixed deal I have been automatically placed on a high tariff, according to eon not everyone wants cheaper bills after all we aren't really in a recession so why pay less when you can pay more for the same thing! They have a massive range of tariffs but don't like to tell you which one is the best for you, a problem across the industry I think.

Changed 12 months ago but wish I had not bothered! Monthly cost went up almost immediately after I swopped and no suitable explanation given. Direct debit has changed several times and does not reflect usage. Switching back to who I was with EDF good service and cheaper than last year now.
