Ovo Reviews

Our only contact with this company came when we moved into a new property in October. The previous occupants had used Ovo for their energy supply. Initial letters were addressed to both myself & my partner. Then, when it became clear that we were moving the energy supply to another company, they started sending demands for over £600 for two months energy to my partner. They continued to charge us for energy after the switchover date , even though Ovo's customer services had told me that they knew what the switchover date was. The last bill they sent us recently was for £891. Our actual energy use age for the period between moving in & the switchover is £10 exc VAT. I don't want to have anything further to do with this company & would seriously advise anyone else to think twice.

We switched to Ovo in Spetember 2011 and have been very impressed. Even with lots of difficulties in switching (due to the previous supplier) Ovo have been really easy to get hold of, even by phone in the evening we were not on hold long, if at all. They do respond to emails within a few days. Their price estimate for us was considerably lower than other suppliers so we switched and we have been pleasantly surprised that our quarterly statement with actual readings has left us in credit! A very good experience, would strongly recommend them. Plus their bills are loads simpler than some other suppliers.

We moved to OVO in September 2011 after my son recommended them. I have to say I have been amazed. My average quarterly bills were around £250 before moving to OVO and now my average bill per quarter since moving is £171.00!! Customer service is efficient, precise and friendly and I actually don't dread the bill coming through the door. We have saved so much by switching to OVO and I highly recommend them to anyone who appreciates good service, clear billing and huge savings!

I liked the idea of joining a small independent supplier. I wish I hadn't chosen Ovo. I signed up in Dec 09 and heard nothing at all. When I switched suppliers (as I didn't seem to be paying a bill) in Feb 10 Ovo wanted to fine me for leaving early. They didn't ask for a meter reading nor did they complete one themselves. They are still chasing me for over £200 based on estimated usage that is far above my actual usage. They do not carry out actions that you request (such as reviewing usage) and I've been left in a repeating loop of threatening emails and long phone calls. I recognise that some people have had good service from Ovo, however I have not. I strongly suggest you steer well clear.
