I have dealt with this company for my father and a friend and on both occassions they have been unable to sort out simple billing queries. My elderly father now pays his bill under another persons name as after 5 calls they cannot sort out a direct debit, a correct bill or a correct name!

I have had nothing but trouble since switching to n-power. They continuosly failed to take payments out which resulted in us ending up in debt with them. Numerous telephone calls were pointless, you would advise them that it was not possible to pay what they wanted from you and they would be very sympathetic and send you out a revised payment which was even higher than the first. I decided to pay the debt off as they were asking for a ridiculous amount a month but there is still no communication within the company and they have still taken out the full direct debit payment of 213.00 a mth although it should have actually dropped to 62.00 a month as the debt has been cleared. I am personally sick of banging my head against a brick wall with this company and have chosen to switch.

We cannot reconcile any of our bills to the amounts taken from our bank via direct debit. The gas and electricity summaries provided are impossible to understand, payments stated as taken are not itemised and bear no resemblance to the figures going out. In addition, several times we have been sent amended bills which make it impossible to work out whether they are correct or not, being for completely different dates. We have also just found we could be on a cheaper tariff with them with potential saving of £173 per year, but they have not let us know - doesn't exactly engender customer loyalty.

I've been through many companies over the years, and now happy to stay with npower as long as they can keep competitive. I don't buy into this saving hundreds of pounds rubbish - it's just a scam to keep the switching companies in business. The web site's really good with a lot of detail and it's still being developed further for more info. Got given a free electricity monitor which is really useful. Marked down for accuracy as one of their electric meter readings (by a contracted company) was misread. As I submit my own readings online every month their customer services picked it up, rang me straight away, verified my readings and amended my bill before it had had chance to be invoiced. Got an apology before I even knew they'd got something wrong so I reckon that's worth recognition

I was not able to monitor energy consumption online month by month. This is inconvenient as I cannot easily assess the benefits of changing supplier.
