4 years with this supplier and still have not had a single bill that is correct. They continually swap my night and day readings so they can double all my bills, probably hoping I won't notice.They estimate my next year's usage by taking my constant annual usage and then *doubling* it. My direct debits regularly jump up and down (last time from £20 to £750 per month! The last straw!). Customer service is terrible - utterly incompetent. The WORST company I have ever had dealings with. Bills take hours to understand - very unclear. The only part of their business that seems on the ball is the complaints depatertment - a clear sign that they are getting lots of practise! AVOID! Tell your friends to avoid. Tell people on the street to avoid...

Unfortunately, while every customer service rep I've dealt with in the year I've been with Npower tried their best to help, they were vague and messed everything up, right from the signing-up phone call . I asked for both my electricity and gas to be paid by DD, set up (by their choice) at £25 a month originally until they could get a fix on roughly how much we use. This didn't happen. They set up the electric, but not the gas, leaving me with a whacking great surprise bill six months later. Which we didn't get because despite numerous (~6/7) phone calls asking them to change it, Npower STILL have the wrong address for us, including a typo in the postcode (a G instead of an F). Will definitely not be using them in future.

I changed to npower after using a price comparison site to work out what would be the cheapest deal for me. I was attracted by the £100 direct debit dual fuel discount at the end of each year as well. After 6 months being supplied by them I moved house, and transferred my npower account to my new address in order to continue being eligible to receive the DD discount. However they messed up the transition and I had to make several phonecalls over the course of 6 months, which must have lasted hours in total, to get them to put this right. They also failed to bill me correctly, with bills being late and innaccurate. When they raised their prices shortly after I became eligible for my first year's DD discount, I decided it was time to switch to a company with better customer service.

Appalling service. NO Payment options. They FORCE one into debt. No contact or call out number between 8pm and 8am. They do NOT send out payment cards (dispite what they tell you), they just want control over your bank account. They even leave diabled people without hot water and/or heating indefinitely - I should know this has happened to me. They cannot be bothered to come out and read or recalibrate your meter. I can prove all these facts.

I was with NPower for over 6 years (and don't know why I didn't switch sooner apart from the fact that I am American and we don't have this problem in the States) and they have only treated me with no respect as a customer. I finally did what I wished I didn't have to do and left, having paid my debts to them. Once paid, once cleared, they sent me notice that I had to pay more. So I did, but again they sent me another notice stating I owed more. So, with this being the last straw, I called them up and chewed them out for being such a horrible company that can't keep its records straight. The letter they sent b4 they called stated they were going to send my debt to a debt agency to deal with me if I didn't pay...even though my 'debt' was suppose to be sqaured away. Npower=bad company!
