Signed up with this supplier with the promise of saving nearly £240 on my current spending of £760. As soon as I swapped, they put the prices up. After 3 months of paying the cheaper d/d of £40 (supposedly where I will make my saving) they miscalculated my anticipated usage for the forthcoming year and promptly almost doubled my direct debit to £76 without even informing me! I only ever paid £50 with my old supplier! Telephone calls fell on deaf ears of completely unhelpful staff who could only do "what the computer says". Eventually I was so far in credit, they had to refund me! So, after 12 months of Npower and £810 later (as you will see, a £50 more spend than £240 saving) I have decided to call it a day! Enter into an agreement at your own risk!

I have only been a customer since September 2007. When the salesman called, he informed me that the monthly debit would be between £60 and £70,and that this price was gauranteed until 2011. When the paperwork finally arrived, my monthly debit was £80.30. Since then, the company have increased their gas charges by 17.2%. and the electricity by just over 13%. This is marketing by deception. Also, My electricity meter was read, but my gas bill was estimated. I find this rather strange as my meters are together, and can be read from outside. I find it hard to believe that there would be a seperate person for each service meter. Knowing then what I know now. I would not have toutched this company with a ten foot barge pole.

Thank you Moneysupermarket.com I have just saved £250 per annum by switching away from Npower. Double figure price rises simply encourage you to look elsewhere, and I am glad I did!

too eager to keep money when they have overcharged and too tardy in refunding same, wasted a lot of time and money telephoning before i was given 'free' telephone no and now their price rise has really soured me.
