Our Expert Says...

They don't come much greener than 'Good Energy' - the only provider to supply 100% of their energy from renewable sources. Although their prices are not as competitive as the 'BIG 6', these guys are really in it for the environment and pledge to replace every unit of energy used by their customers with a unit of energy from renewable sources – wind, small-scale hydro and solar.

Good Energy now has over 26,000 electricity, 2,500 gas and 1,079 micro-generating customers across the UK and is the only provider to supply ALL of their electricity from renewable sources wind, small-scale hydro and solar power. Good Energy has received many awards for its contribution to ''green'' energy with the latest in March 2010 being Good Energy CEO and founder Juliet Davenport being named as 'At Home' magazine top 20 eco hero 2010 and also winning the 2009 Sustainable Housing Awards' Sustainable Innovation award for it's HotROCs scheme; the UK's first Renewable Heat Incentive.

Faultless service

Supplier Ratings

I'm baffled by the comments from dissatisfied customers. Are we talking aobut the same company? Good Energy haven't put a foot wrong in my experience. I switched to them from SWEB for ethical reasons: a smooth handover ensued. More recently I took their advice about an PV installer, and set up an 18 panel system. Since then they have helped me sort out the feed-in tariff, They halved my monthly bill (to take account of the home-generated electricity I use) and make quarterly FiT payments into my bank (amounting to a 9% tax-free indexed return on the investment). They have several thousand domestic generators, and have built new wind turbines to supplement the electricity they buy from other sustainable sources. What more could any company do?

I have to deal with many electricity companies with my work ( we install PV systems) and I have always found them to be human helpful and do what they say. I have been a customer of theirs as well for many years and I find the same level of service on both sides of their admin and service

said that they had not received any information to end account, although email says otherwise, continued to send bills even after me telling them over gain, said they owed me money, then 9 months later said that I owed them £600,. Customer services hang up on you. A friend had a similar experience, I cant believe they are able to trade. Ombudsman number is 08450550760 when you come to the same conclusion

Appalling service and inaccurate bills

Supplier Ratings

I have had several problems with this company. firstly they tried to charge me the wrong amount as they read the wrong meter - twice! I now have an issue where they are claiming not to have received my money that I sent usining online banking - and my bank have confirmed the payment went through. All the time I am having to justify what I am sayoing by photocopying letters etc and I have been told that I will not receive an apology letter from them when they discover that the lost payment is their error. I am now going to change supplier as I have had enough. While I would like to use a "green" company this is just too much trouble.
