Unfortunately you have to score 1 as a minimum I would give them zero on everything. Takes months to be offered smart meter. Will only provide (over) estimated bills despite being given meter readings. Rarely respond to emails. Dragged their heels as much as possible when I decided to move to another company. I have changed supplier many times and never had a problem getting an accurate final bill. First utitlity are incapable of providing one. Their billing and customer services systems simply do not work. I would not touch them with a barge pole. Utterly incompetent.

Filled in the forms (online) and received an email saying I would hear from them in 24 hours, More than a month later still heard nothing. Sent an email, and got a telephone call from a sarcastic Australian accented rep. Don't waste your time with them (over a month of mine wasted), if you do, read their T&C very carefully!!!!!!!

Tried to switch to first:utility. Their reply was:" "Thank you for registering with first:utility for electricity and gas. Unfortunately we are unable to supply gas to your home under our standard terms and conditions. This is because you are supplied by an independent gas network. We are just as disappointed as you are that we can't go ahead with supplying gas to your home. In light of these circumstances we have cancelled your registration electricity and gas." Don't know what they meant by independent gas network. We can get British Gas, Atlantic, Scottish Power, EON and others here. What's the problem?

Not sure why so many people have put negative remarks however i can only tell you about my own experiance. Smart Meter Fitted with 5 weeks, 2 weeks quicker than 1st told, saving on my bill over £40 a month from what i was paying with British Gas, Love the fact i can see what i am using although my husband now knows when i use to much electric during the day ooopppssss. Great Product Great customer service based in midlands not overseas call centre answered my call in less than 30 seconds each time i phone.

Had a great offer via all the comparison web sites-- filled in all the forms, e-mailed off then heard nothing. Then had a reject e-mail as did not meet the credit standards---even though dont own a penny and would be paying upfront by monthly direct debit!! All the best if you chose them--my business has gone elsewhere!
See when first-utility changed their Gas & Electricity prices and by how much. Down arrows represent price drops and up arrows represent price increases.
