EDF Energy Reviews

EDF got my bill wrong several times despite multpile phonecalls. They did not reply to e-mails. I waited on hold up to 30mins at a time when I called. When we moved out they lost my readings twice, I gave them again and they still failed to move my address for me, even after three e-mails and many phonecalls. They have been the worst gas/electric company I have ever used. I would not recommend them at all.

I moved to EDF at the end of last year and agreed a monthly "Budget direct debit" plan. Twice, in response to receiving meter readings, they charged my Bank account with the full amount of the invoice in addition to the monthly direct debit. Despite a series of emails to query this all I get in response is an advice of what my "Budget direct debit" plan monthly amount is and how it is allocated to the gas and electricity usage. And I thought my previous supplier was poor!

EDF couldn't get one thing right in the whole time i was with them. i opted to pay for my bills quarterly to which they never sent a bill out for the first 6 months then the following 2 bills were every month then after that it was 2 months later! when i finally managed to get hold of them on each occasion i was told it was my fault because i hadnt checked online to let them know my bill was late......continuously they continue to be useless even now i have left my last bills of gas and electric are coincidently exactly the same to the penny, but when i requested all my figures from when i started with them they refuse to send them to e without charging me £10. AVOID THIS COMPANY THEY ARE OVERPRICED AND GIVE THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER KNOWN FROM ANY ENERGY SUPPLIER!!

The main fuse blew yesterday afternoon, ( the big 100 amp one you cannot touch) called customer service who were very helpfull, asked us a few questions and within the hour the technition arived and replaced the thing,Brilliant.

Today arrived my annual review as a loyal customer for over 7 years. As usual i was in credit but based on my "estimated yearly consumption" they wanted to increase my monthly direct debit by in excess of 25%. This did not concern me as I usually ring up, show them i am in sufficient credit and that there was no need to be greedy setting my payments back to the usual monthly amount. Not today! the gentelman explained to me that they would not reduce the amount in line with my regular usage as it is no longer company policy. Needless to say I have now cancelled my direct debit, ported suppliers and have cancelled the direct debit with my bank. There are some fantasic deals out there and remember loyalty counts for nothing. The process takes 4-6 weeks and then the refund cheque arrives!
