Ebico Ltd is the UK’s only not-for-profit energy company established to bring fairer prices to the gas and electricity markets. Ebico launched EquiGas in 1999 and EquiPower in 2002. EquiGas and EquiPower are designed for simplicity. Each has a single flat-rate and no standing charge, so customers only pay for what they use.

In addition, the same unit rate applies whichever payment option the customer selects. So cash and prepayment customers, as well as customers who are able to use Direct Debit facilities, can all access the same fair price. Ebico uses Scottish and Southern Energy (S&SE) as the licensed supplier to deliver EquiGas and EquiPower so customers have full access to all the backup services provided by this major energy supply company.

Not competitive prices

Here's an update, as last views were end of last year 2008. They pushed their prices at the beginning of 2009, and reduced it slightly in the following months. Yes, their bills are correct and don't mislead you, but they are failing with competitive prices. Wrote to them directly, but no change to prices for the near future.

Great Service but too expensive

I was a customer of Ebico for several years and have just decided to leave them, even though their customer service is excellent. The only reason I have now left them is that their prices are no longer competitive and I can get a better deal elsewhere. Hopefully I've made the right decision! However if you don't mind paying a little over the odds for better customer service this is the firm to go for.

Great Service - Rather pricey (+200)

Expensive, but the best Customer service by far (Ive been with BG, NPower, etc). Poor billing and meter reading periods Gas and Elecy bill only ariving in October 2009, previous one was Nov 2008 !!!!!!!!! Yikes.

compotent competitive supplier

I have been with Ebico for 3 years for both electric&gas,but not on dual fuel tariff (quarterly d/d on both accounts) this way leaves you in complete control of payments as you recieve bills well in advance of payment due date.One call to the meterline( freephone)with your meter readings will trigger a corrected bill (only paying for what you have used) I check prices regularly only very small savings available, not worth it .

The best supplier for their market

You get charged the same whatever your payment method, even if you have a card-meter or don't use direct debit. This is excellent for older people and those on a low income. Customer service (once past the faffy automated switchboard) is excellent, with knowledgeable and helpful staff. My gas bill was over-estimated and electric under-estimated, but this was all sorted out in one call, with the money being swapped between acconts. The parent-company (Southern Electric) will call you up trying to sell you allsorts, however. Just ignore them!
