From now on it’s E.ON. As of December 3rd 2007 Powergen became E.ON, one of the world's largest investor owned energy companies, who is committed to changing energy for the better. That means they want to change where we get energy from, how we receive it and how we use it more efficiently.

In the UK, E.ON’s generation business produces enough electricity to cater for the needs of around eight million homes. E.ON is one of the leading green generators, with 21 wind farms located from Cornwall to Northern Ireland and has recently finished building the UK’s largest dedicated biomass power stations at Lockerbie.

E.ON is currently developing one of the world's largest offshore wind farms, which will be built here, in UK waters.

Overall

Billing was accurate. Call centre staff were polite and did what was asked. Adequate contact and infomation provided at all stages. Nothing outstanding but seemed to be a good service.

I changed to Eon after them being recommended on a comparision website. I wish i had never bothered! When i joined a direct debit price was agreed , within a couple of weeks they tripled this amount. Even when i called them to explain i could not afford this all they said was ' it may change next time but you will have to pay it for now'. The amount was reduced after the next bill (as i wasnt using anywhere near what they were charging for) but now on the next bill they have doubled the direct debit amount!! im not even in debit with them!! If this is the amount being charged for a summer bill i hate to imagine what they will want me to pay after the winter. What happened to companies allowing for differing use according to the seasons?? I have now applied to switch companies and cant wait

Have just moved in and been plonked onto a very expensive tariff with no suggestion to change. We were given no payment options just a bill. Got a note saying they couldn't read the meter on the 8th sept (its outside and clearly marked!) then a bill saying they had read the meter on the 7th sept?!

I have been with E-ON for over 2 years and been really impressed with their service. We've been on a fixed tariff, sold to us by a doorstep rep and we've received a first class service. The online billing is clear and easy to use. It's great to look back at previous bills and see all our payments and meter readings and be able to print out what I need when I need it. We even moved house with them and they were really good at transferring our tariff and getting the bills sorted quickly. They gave good notice when they wanted to change the direct debit and all staff have been friendly and helpful on the phone, even when I was really stressed when moving house and querying some meter readings! We're now changing as it's the end of our fixed contract - hope new supplier is as good!

Known as the Fuel Mix Disclosure, suppliers publish this information annually and distribute with their bills, statements or promotional material.
