From now on it’s E.ON. As of December 3rd 2007 Powergen became E.ON, one of the world's largest investor owned energy companies, who is committed to changing energy for the better. That means they want to change where we get energy from, how we receive it and how we use it more efficiently.

In the UK, E.ON’s generation business produces enough electricity to cater for the needs of around eight million homes. E.ON is one of the leading green generators, with 21 wind farms located from Cornwall to Northern Ireland and has recently finished building the UK’s largest dedicated biomass power stations at Lockerbie.

E.ON is currently developing one of the world's largest offshore wind farms, which will be built here, in UK waters.

Overall

Good service, had no problems exept for increasing direct debit payments excessively. Soon reduced to a reasonable amount following a phone call. Only leaving due to a special offer elsewhere. Would happily return.

Received a gas bill from EOn & we were over £240 in credit, phoned & asked for a refund & because we phoned to ask for refund our monthly diect debit is going. up from £ 98 per month to £148. Needless to say we are changing. These people have OUR money & we could not have a refund, absolutely disgusting The same thing happened with Southern Electric, phoned( free phone) spoke to a lovely girl gave me over £200 refund at once.

Great customer service,excellent and accurate billing.Online service is very good but paperwork a bit complicated. I would have happily stayed with Eon but the fixed price contract on offer did not extend far enough and was quite expensive--they need to be considerably more flexible with existing long term customers if they want to keep them

Been with E.on for over two years (including a 'switch' at the end of a deal.) Always very satisfied. Loved the added Tesco points. Loved the website with info including graph to see/compare energy usage month to month and eventually year to year. This time the switches offered were just not so good - more expensive than others, no Tesco points on cheapest deals. Sorry to have to go.

Overall

I moved to E-on for dual fual after being with my previous suppliers for a year with our new house. We had a few teething problems with them not recognising the gas meter number, but after that everything has been fine. Our dealing with customer service has been a pleasure and they always ring back if they say they will. Friendly helpfull staff, and the with price at the moment is still being around the cheapest I see no reason to change. Also I love the free energy meter and the on-line account management.

All suppliers are required to give information about the mix of fuels they use to generate the electricity supplied to their customers as well its environmental impact. Known as the Fuel Mix Disclosure, suppliers publish this information annually and distribute with their bills, statements or promotional material.
