After moving house we stayed with eon and everything seemed to be straightforward. I innocently assumed the monthly direct debit would continue as had been verbally agreed and it was not until the end of the quarter and a bill arrived for well over £400 that it became clear they hadn't been continuing with the DD. Not a great start to a new year and it caused bigger bills for the rest of the year as I paid off the debit. Now at the end of my fixed deal I have been automatically placed on a high tariff, according to eon not everyone wants cheaper bills after all we aren't really in a recession so why pay less when you can pay more for the same thing! They have a massive range of tariffs but don't like to tell you which one is the best for you, a problem across the industry I think.

Changed 12 months ago but wish I had not bothered! Monthly cost went up almost immediately after I swopped and no suitable explanation given. Direct debit has changed several times and does not reflect usage. Switching back to who I was with EDF good service and cheaper than last year now.

Been with E-on for over a year and they have just written to me telling me they are doubling my Direct Debit. I told them on no account am I paying double the amount, I was only approximately £100 in debit which has taken over a year to reach. They just want you to be in credit so they can look after your money and earn interest from it. They wouldn't let me increase by just £20 per month without paying off the debt. Their arrogant attitude was just not acceptable so I'm switching to a company who hopefully will be more considerate. They should teach their staff good customer service. It just doesn't exist with this company!

We've used Eon for the last 2 years and they wanted to keep our monthly direct debit at £110, even though we were in credit £400! I rang and they said No, So I rang back and got someone else and they reduced it to £40 per month. They really do try it on but just don't take no for an answer.

We've had lots of problems with getting correct readings for both our meters. We were told by one of the customer service team that the readings belonged to our neighbour and she would rectify it but after receiving exactly the same reading again (totally different from our reading) we rang again and of course spoke to someone else, who told us that no, it was the reading for our meter even though ours was totally different! After several more time consumming and expensive phone calls the matter was eventually resolved. We then changed to a capped tarriff which became hugely expensive. Definitely would NOT recommend these people!!!
