I have tried calling eon customer service twice today .... first time waited 20 minutes and did not get anywhere... second time I had waited for 40 minutes. I had then found a phone number on the bill about complaints .... no one answered and I was on hold again. As a last resort I then decided to call the directors offices ... by which time I was furious .... I mean 60 minutes calling from a mobile to 0845 number is NOT cheap!! a very pleasant man called Simon answered after two rings! at the end of the call he offered me a FIVER! erm NO!!! its going to cost me at least £20 for all this?!! My final point is this if not for a card electricity meter I would move to another company ... as my gas is with utility warehouse and they are great!

It is a nightmare trying to get through to their customer service team on the phone. Once you get through they are quite helpful. The cost of phoning them is ridiculously high! I resorted to emailing them with my queries & complaints, I received a response from them a few days later & granted the response was useful & detailed, they said they'd send a revised bill taking into account the credit I was due, bill came through, credit not even mentioned. Clicked reply on their email but oh no you can't do it that way you have to go through the website email again! Before I received 2nd reply from them I got a letter demanding I pay my bill, this letter had taken into account my credit due! They are so unorganised & their bills are far too complicated. I am now in the process of switching!

They gave me an estimated bill that was way inflated by approximately £200. when I requested to speak to complaints manager I was left waiting on the phone for 40 mins. She never came to the phone. Any they never listened. They could not change my meter to pay as u go bause it couldnt be done on my flat........which was untrue.. because my neighbours had them from E-ON. Though I have paid big chunks towards the inflated bill, they been sending collecters to my door step charging and threatening me ...And this is over bill of £266. Threats have worsened since I told them I was leaving for another supplier because it will save me £250 for the year. Exploitive and very unhelpful!......thank God am leaving E-ON.

Yes, it does say it in the terms and conditions, but if you're as busy as I am, you won't remember every word of every document that comes into the house. Be warned - if you don't cancel soon after you get the renewal letter (which by the way, does not call itself a renewal letter and does not mention the timescale you have available to cancel without charge) - you'll be tied in for 12 months. This means that they will CHARGE you for the FULL YEAR if you cancel - EVEN if you have had NO WORK WHATSOEVER (for a service or a breakdown) from them in the current contract year! Also be aware that some companies follow the manufacturer recommendations for servicing - eon do not. I have a Vaillant boiler and eon won't replace parts that Vaillant recommend are replaced as part of a service.

I really want to stay with eon but coming to the end of a fixed tariff I have found I can do so much better elsewhere. If the difference was small I'd stay but I am planning to move to another fixed tariff with npower unless eon come up with a last minute fix that suits me.
