I've been with Atlantic for a few years and never had a problem with them, but since they are putting their prices up soon, I am going to switch to Ebico, which is part of SSE (as is Atlantic).

We've had solar panels since November 2011. Atlantic told us when we registered that we had to supply readings in Dec, Mar, Jun & Sept. For our first two readings we were paid within a reasonable time. However the June reading was rejected as Atlantic claimed the reading was too high. We sent a phot of the meter proving the readings were correct and they then agreed to pay the £743 we were owed. However we have now found that this has been added to our account and not paid into the bank. Having contacted them again we have been told that because the quarter came to over £500 it has to be approved by a commitee. Come on atlantic get a grip! This has been a bad summer so heaven help us if we have a heatwave summer in the next 24 years! Be warned, if you generate too much.

I have now been with Atlantic for 3 months and despite several long phone calls I am unable even to enter a gas meter reading online!! I wanted an online account management service to keep control of my bills and I haven't a clue how the account is running

I have been with Atlantic for 5 years now and compared to British Gas and others from the past, they are pretty good. 12 months ago, i did a price comparison, as you do and found e-on were a little cheaper. I contacted Atlantic and told them i wanted to change, as i had found somewhere cheaper. She rang me back 5 mins later and i got £20 per month reduction on previous monthly payments. SORTED. She was nice and helpful. If there is going to be further increases, i will do a price comparison again and see where it takes me. If there is only a very small difference, it doesn't always pay to change. Atlantic have always been a lot cheaper for me on duel fuel, compared to British Gas. Like someone else has said, they offer you the cheaper carrott, but wack it up shortly after.

We subscribed in Jan 2010 an Online Fixed Price Offer from Atlantic for both gas and electricity which was supposed to last until end of August 2011 and give a rebate on gas and electricity in month 13. After the contract started Atlantic advised us they had changed their terms and conditions (did not know you could do that...) and that our deal would now end at the end of March 2011 rather than August. Being already supplied by Atlantic we could not switch without occuring a fine. We wrote to protest without getting any answer. We are now at the beginning of April and had to switch to a higher price of gas and electricity 5 months ealier than anticipated. Moreover, the rebate promised in month 13 was conveniently forgotten on our bill and we had to argue this promotional point as well.
