Tom Tom One

I bought my Tom Tom one around 14 months ago. It was great at first, then it began to be slower and slower at getting a satellite. I rang through to Tom Tom and they told me to log on to there website where i could update my software, I did this but to no avail. It has got so bad I am going to get another one to sit alongside it but this time it will NOT be a tom tom,

Essential Item

I bought one of these recently to take on holiday when we were driving from Chester to Holland, after never having a sat nav before I can safely say that I could not go back to the convential map and arguing with the wife. It did not let us down once regardless of weather we were in the UK, France, Belgium or Holland. Its easy to install, set up and use, battery time is great, although it comes with the in car charger cables. Was perfect on motorways, dual carriage ways and even country lanes. Superb !

Overstated!

I had the oppertunity to use this in Spain (which last time I checked, was in Europe). In its defence, it only got me lost twice in the same day! It is just an over-complicated, more expensive version of other versions on the market. That said, I am a fan of Tom Tom products usually.

Forget Maps

I honestly can't imagine how I used to survive with sat nav, hours of driving round in circles has been replaced by "quickest route" and "shortest route". You just type in your destination and away you go - this one even has voice recognition so you just tell it where you want to go. Tomtom now has a map update feature, so your satnav isn't out of date for long as it now will update speed limits, one way streets and new roads thanks to the network of users using it. Not only is it really helpful, but it replaces the annual purchase of map updates which would cost around £40 a time.
