great piece of kit

excellent entry level hrm. any one starting out and looking for a relatively cheap hrm can do a lot worse than this piece of kit. amazon regularly take the price down to 30 for the watch chest strap and usb ant stick wait for that and then go for it.

GARMIN FORERUNNER 405 Without HRM

I bought this watch having used a 205 previously. What a great piece of equipment! It's fairly tricky to start using at first, and the bezel can seem a bit tempremental, but once you get the hang of it there is no problem. The on-line features through the Garmin website are a great training aid. The amount of training gimmicks on the 405 is breathtaking, and for the serious runner there is very little to complain about. The only complaint I have about this watch is the price. I managed to get mine for £175.00, but there are places out there selling it between £179 and £230.

Great piece of kit and great price

does exactly what it says on the er... box type in the post code and it takes you there cheaper than Tom Tom but less gadgets, but in this case less is better, with tom tom you pay extra for stuff you never really use, this just does its job.

Great for first time users

Apart from an occasional preference for windy lanes over almost parallel straight a-roads this sat nav has never let me down. It's really simple to use and follow. The voice isn't even that annoying although the consistant dinging of the speed-camera warning can be a bit. However, even with the volune down the map is really easy to read. I've lent this to friends and it only takes a minute to explain and you're away. Looks fairly attractive, more streamline than other brands, has a good battery life when fully-charged. Has a few handy added features too.
