How do I register my child?

All children born on or after September 1 2002 are eligible for a CTF, provided they are living in the UK and not subject to immigration controls.

You do not have to apply for a CTF for your child as such – vouchers are issued automatically to all eligible children whose parents claim Child Benefit. So the key is to make sure you are registered for Child Benefit.

Parents are encouraged to choose where their child’s voucher is invested. However, there is a 12-month deadline for this decision to be made. If you don’t invest your son or daughter’s voucher within that time, the Government will invest it in a stakeholder scheme on your behalf.
