Comment on Virgin Media cutting the monthly cost of its 50MB broadband package

James Parker, broadband manager at moneysupermarket.com said, "This deal from Virgin offers great value for money on a package with unrivalled speed. For those people who download a lot or stream music or TV through Spotify of iPlayer then this deal will be hard to beat.

"There are some great value deals out there but moneysupermarket.com research* has shown that over 33 million people (69 per cent) have failed to ensure they are on the best deal by reviewing their subscriptions over the past year, with one in nine (11 per cent) saying they simply can't be bothered to switch and save. Those who have switched services in the last 12 months have saved almost £200 over that time.

"Virgin offer an even cheaper deal on their 50MB package when you bundle phone line rental with the broadband. Bundling your services could lead to huge savings. Depending on which packages people use they could save up to £320** per year by taking a triple bundle deal with one provider."
