Whether it‘s delivering mail or sorting out your passport, the Post Office is expanding its range of services to meet the changing needs of the consumer with its traditional expertise. Among the latest branches of the business is Post Office home insurance (also known as ‘house insurance’ or ‘household insurance’).

The Post Office includes both buildings insurance and contents insurance among its range of options or you could take out a combined deal. Its buildings insurance policy comes with accidental damage cover and home assistance, which provides 24-hour assistance for home emergencies such as burst pipes.

Also available is its contents insurance policy which includes personal possessions, accidental damage to TVs, videos, DVD players, stereos and home computers. Garden contents, replacement locks and freezer contents are also incorporated as standard and your cover is automatically increased by 10% around Christmas and family weddings at no extra cost.

If you want extra peace of mind, Post Office home insurance also includes additional cover in the form of family legal protection up to £50,000 with a 24hr helpline.
