About Proton
Proton, Malaysia's biggest car manufacturer, first started trading in the UK in 1987. The company began importing vehicles in 1989 and since then has sold in excess of 120,000 vehicles here in the UK.
Within the next two years, Proton plan to launch several new vehicles. The current Proton range consists of the Savvy (small city car), the GEN-2 (family hatchback), the Impian (saloon car) and the Jumbuck (pick-up/commercial). A replacement model for the discontinued Proton Satria, is due to launch in 2006.
