    About Lotus

    Founded in 1948, Lotus has its roots in motor sport with Team Lotus winning seven F1 team championships. The enhanced performance and superlative handling that was applied to Lotus racing cars was later applied to their road cars. In the fifty-odd years since Lotus was created they have grown from being a producer of just a handful of competition cars each year to one of the most respected creators of some of the world’s best sports cars.

    In 2004 Lotus was awarded the ‘Best Sports Car’ award by Top Gear Magazine for the Elise 111R and the ‘Specialist Manufacturer’ award in Auto Express Magazine’s New Car Honours.
