About Chevrolet

The Chevrolet Motor Car Company, part of the General Motors group, began producing cars in 1911 and quickly out-sold Ford's Model T. Chevrolet led the US car sales chart from 1936 – 1976 and to put this success into perspective, every sixteenth car on the planet is now a Chevrolet.

In January 2005, Daewoo's short-lived European production ended with a re-branding to the Chevrolet name and the company is now establishing itself in the UK car market with a range of small and medium sized cars. The current Chevrolet range launched in February 2006 and consists of small city cars and 'family' cars (with an optional estate version). Chevrolet has taken on the name of many popular Daewoo models including the Matiz, Kalos and Lucetti.
