About Bentley

Nearly 90 years on from its first car, Bentley is still one of the most revered and respected names in the industry. Bentley was taken over by its rival car maker Rolls-Royce back in the thirties and until 2002 the cars produced under the Rolls-Royce and Bentley brands were often identical bar the iconic radiator grilles.

Everything changed in 1998 when Rolls-Royce was purchased by VW after a prolonged battle of the chequebooks with rival BMW. From 2003 all Bentleys have been produced by VW and sales have been strong. In 2005 the company sold 8,627 Bentleys worldwide, with 3,654 sold in the USA.
